At the conclusion of the regular season (following the Wyndham Championship), the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible to play in the FedExCup Playoffs, a series of three events.
Points earned during the FedExCup Regular Season carry over to the first two playoffs events - the St Jude Championship and the BMW Championship.
Players compete in the FedExCup Playoffs for their share of the nearly $100 million in bonus money, which is distributed following the BMW Championship.
The top 30 players who qualify for the TOUR Championship will compete for a $40 million purse, with the FedExCup Champion taking home $10 million.
The FedExCup Playoffs feature progressive cuts, with fields of:
- - 70 for the FedEx St. Jude Championship (TPC Southwind, Memphis, Tennessee),
- - 50 for the BMW Championship (Bellerive Country Club, St. Louis, Missouri), and
- - 30 for the TOUR Championship (East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia), where the FedExCup Champion will be determined.
In the event an eligible player is unable or chooses not to play, the field will be shortened and no alternates will be added.
There are no cuts in FedExCup Playoffs events. The first two Playoffs events award 750 points to the winner (matching that of THE PLAYERS and major championships), while the Playoffs finale, the TOUR Championship, will be played as a 72-hole stroke-play event, with all players starting the tournament at even par. The best performer over the course of four rounds at the TOUR Championship will win the FedExCup.
TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
At the TOUR Championship, the player with the lowest stroke total over 72 holes will win the FedExCup, be credited with an official victory at the TOUR Championship, earn a bonus of $10 million and receive a five-year PGA TOUR exemption.
Players compete for a $40 million purse at the TOUR Championship that is considered Official Money, separate from the nearly $100 million in FedExCup Bonus Money.
