TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic will be hoping to get their top-eight challenge back on track against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Sunday
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
CURRENT FORM
The Rockets were in the frame for CAF football going into the mid-season break, but the wheels have come off spectacularly in 2026 which has seen them win just one of their nine matches in the Betway Premiership.
A 2-1 defeat to Polokwane City at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium - their adopted home - extended Galaxy's winless run to eight games and they've only picked up four points out of a possible 27 this year.
Beganovic's side have slipped to 12th in the standings, three points outside the MTN8 places, however, the Bosnian tactician insists recent results belie their performances.
Amakhosi have emerged as serious contenders for the CAF Confederation Cup berth after arresting their mini-slump in February.
The Glamour Boys suffered three consecutive defeats against Stellenbosch (2-1), Orlando Pirates (3-0) and Richards Bay (1-0) to open the door for AmaZulu in the race for a top-three finish.
Chiefs have now won three on the spin though, to put themselves in a strong position to return to continental action, with a 3-1 victory over Orbit College taking them one point clear of fourth-placed Usuthu, who have played two games more.
The reverse fixture on December 7 ended in a goalless draw, which left the Soweto giants winless in their last nine league meetings with Galaxy.
WHAT WAS SAID:
TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic
"In the second round we struggled a little bit, we opened the second round by beating Marumo Gallants 2-0 at home and then we haven't been lucky in some games. We conceded last-minute goals and then we lost some points and then with no reason you lose some games.
"When you are unlucky you lose some games. Against AmaZulu we led two times but we conceded two goals in the last two minutes. I think it's unbelievable how we lost that game and also against Stellenbosch we led and we had an opportunity to score on an empty net and but we took just one point.
"In so many games we had a chance to collect some points but all the time we have some transition, we involve some new players in our team and sometimes new players, especially the younger ones, need time to adapt."
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Kaizer Chiefs - Wandile Duba will be hoping there is more to come from him after finally opening his account for the campaign against Dikwena tsa Meetse and following it up with the equaliser in the win over Mswenko Boyz. The 21-year-old striker has been in and out of the team for much of the season, but will be keen to repay the faith that co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have shown him in recent weeks.
TS Galaxy - Seluleko Mahlambi enjoyed a fine start to his professional career after being promoted to the first team in July, scoring five goals in his first 10 top-flight appearances, while also registering three assists. But the 21-year-old winger has not had any goal involvements in his last 12 outings, coinciding with the team's dip in form.
