Rulani Mokwena’s Mouloudia Alger were held to a goalless draw at home in their Algerian league match against JS Kabylie, but still lead the title race.
Mouloudia’s home clash with JSK ended goalless on Thursday, making it now three games in a row without a win for Mokwena’s side.
They were eliminated from the African Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns, losing 2-0 in Pretoria earlier this month, and then lost away at Mouloudia Oran in the Algerian league last Friday – only their second defeat in 16 matches in Ligue 1.
The draw against JSK saw Mouloudia remain one point ahead of CS Constantine, who also drew 0-0 on Thursday against Chabab Belouizdad.
Mouloudia advanced to 37 points from 17 games while Constantine have 36 points but have played 21 games.
Mokwena’s team are next up in action against Belouizdad in the quarterfinals of the Algerian Cup on Tuesday.
Belouizdad are coached by Mokwena’s arch-foe Sead Ramovic, with whom he had several insulting exchanges in media interviews when Mokwena was coach of Sundowns and Ramovic at TS Galaxy.
