TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic is determined to make "beautiful history" as his team prepare to face Milford in the Nedbank Cup semifinals at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday, April 5.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
CURRENT FORM
The Rockets are bidding to reach the final for the first time since 2019, when they made history by winning the title while campaigning in the second tier of South African football.
Beganovic's side have struggled in the Betway Premiership this year, winning just one of their eight matches to drop down to 11th in the standings, three points outside the top eight.
A 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Orlando Pirates on March 22 extended their winless streak in the top flight to seven games, but Galaxy have shone in the cup competition.
The Mpumalanga outfit needed penalties to get past Marumo Gallants in the round of 32, although they pulled off a major upset by beating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 in the round of 16.
A 2-0 victory over lower-league Jacksa Spears secured their second appearance in the last four, and Beganovic believes they can achieve something big this season.
Milford are in uncharted territory after failing to go further than the round of 16 in 2024 and 2025, losing to Sekhukhune United (2-1) and Stellenbosch (6-1) respectively.
Xanti Pupuma's side are serious contenders for promotion to the Betway Premiership after winning four of their eight outings in 2026 to occupy pole position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The KZN club kicked off their Nedbank Cup campaign with a 2-0 success against Baroka in the qualifying round and navigated the shootout lottery to eliminate SSU M-17 (round of 32) and Babina Noko (quarterfinals), having seen off Mkhambathi 3-0 in the round of 16.
WHAT WAS SAID
TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic
"It is very important to believe in the team and in the process. Over the last two years I think TS Galaxy has built a beautiful future if we continue working like this. We have a small squad and we try to improve all the players we have. If we continue like this, I think we can reach our goal.
"Until now I am very proud of my team and my players. I believe we can make beautiful history this year and maybe even have the best season in our history. I want that, and I push my team to believe in it too. We just need to keep believing in our process because we are very close to our goals."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
TS Galaxy - Seluleko Mahlambi: has enjoyed a breakout season for the Rockets after being promoted to the first team in July. The 21-year-old winger has scored five goals and registered three assists in 21 league appearances, making him the leading player in the team for goal contributions after Puso Dithejane left for Chicago Fire. He has yet to get off the mark in three Nedbank Cup games, with Galaxy's five goals coming from Victor Letsoalo, Siphamandla Ngwenya, Junior Zindoga, Igor Salatiel and Tshepo Kakora.
Milford - Bulelani Sigomoshe: has forced his way into Pupuma's thinking after playing a key role in their last two cup-ties. The winger wasn't even in the squad against Baroka and SSU M-17, but he stepped off the bench to good effect in the win over Mkhambathi after opening the scoring and providing two assists. He then set up Cheswyn Philander for the opener against Sekhukhune United for his third assist in two matches.
