Siwelele coach Lehlohonolo Seema says he will continue his work to improving his side even if the threat of a possible sacking hangs over his head after a winless start to the season.
Siwelele have only two points from their opening five matches of the new Betway Premiership season after losing 3-2 to Kaizer Chiefs at Dobsonville on Sunday.
“I've always controlled the controllables, and it's going to be one of those things that you have to accept as a coach,” said Seema when asked whether he feared being fired after a disappointing start to the season.
“As a coach, you continue to work hard, and I remain professional, I cannot speculate. what the chairman will do.
“Last season, he supported me right through. We went two months without a win.”
Seema said there had been a difficult transition with 25 players let go sine the SuperSport United franchise was bought. “New players are coming in, we’ve had many that are playing for the first time in the PSL. So there's still a lot of things that we are working on.
“I know that it is not easy. It's not nice. But we have walked this path before, and it proven that we can, with time, improve.”
Seema said the second half performance against Chiefs had shown “this team is coachable and there are a lot of things that we can do.
“Whether I'll be given time or what, I cannot say, but at the moment, I'm still looking forward to go to the Wednesday game (against Mamelodi Sundowns), and the (Lamontville) Golden Arrows game (on Sunday).”
Seema is a 10-year veteran of coaching in the PSL with previous stints at Bloemfontein Celtic, Chippa United (twice), Black Leopards, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United before taking the Siwelele job at the start of last season.
