The Hollywoodbets Dolphins won the toss and chose to bat in their CSA One-Day Cup match against the Dafabet Warriors at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Friday.
The Dolphins, the current champions on the strength of their victory in last season’s final over Goldrush Boland in Paarl, are without seven players who have been called up for South Africa’s forthcoming T20I tour of New Zealand.
This has led to the recall of 46-year-old wrist-spinner Imran Tahir, who last played for the Dolphins six years ago. The Dolphins have also welcomed back Jon-Jon Smuts after he recently represented Italy in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The Warriors have already claimed silverware this season, having won the CSA T20 Challenge.
