The Moothee Ram Tuskers won the toss and chose to bat first in their CSA One-Day Cup match against the Dafabet Warriors at St George’s Park on Saturday morning.
The Warriors are one of the unbeaten teams in the tournament alongside the log leaders DP World Lions. They are in second place with four wins and two no-result encounters in six matches. Coach Robin Petersen’s men will be keen to maintain their pristine record with a victory over the Tuskers.
The Warriors come into this match on the back of a rain-affected match against the Multiply Titans. Their bowlers had a good run in that match and had the Titans against the ropes on 108/8 when rain stopped play. Gideon Peters and Thomas Kaber enjoyed a good outing, claiming three wickets apiece. Their batters, though, didn’t get a chance in the middle.
The Tuskers, on the other hand, have not enjoyed a great season. They have managed a single win, four losses, and one no-result in six matches this season. Their run has left them in seventh place. They are on equal points with last-placed Hollywoodbets Dolphins, separated only by the net run rate.
The Tuskers come into this match on the back of a 47-run loss to the Lions in a rain-interrupted contest. Their bowlers did well to keep the Lions to a middling total, despite Zubayr Hamza’s solid performance and Delano Potgieter’s cameo. Unfortunately, their batters failed to get a foothold in the contest. The visitors will be hoping for more of the same from their bowlers and an improved showing from their batters.
